Author Topic: Multiple colorset usage  (Read 2416 times)

We are indeed, since we are paying for this.
We are indeed, are we?

Wrong choice of words; we can only suggest things to Badspot, he makes the final decision.

It's actually not possible to switch between two colorsets without closing the server.

Please, I dare you to try to prove me wrong.
I think this is true because then wouldn't the bricks you colored with the previous colorset change?

I think that someone would make a way to do that, with the same consequences as would exist now, so I don't have to switch from Default to Trueno's or whatever and close the server.

..really? You told me to "get a bigger screen"? It wont matter how big my screen is if the color-set is set on the Blockland Window. You'd need the color-set selector to be mini.

Change resolution then?

Also, you would have no say if you joined a server with a color-set that big. I say, keep the cap.
Simple, leave.

But if he made choices about this that were too unpopular, money would stop flowing.

@Chrono: Yes, it's not possible. That's the whole point of this thread: We should be able to switch between colorsets ingame, without them breaking brick colors.

Instead of having a giant colorset for the whole server we could have client sided colorsets for each player that can be edited and updated in game. I don't see why not.

What is the cap anyway?

64.

Because it doesn't work that way. D:

I was thinking of having a colorwheel GUI and add them to a client-sided 'favorites' in place of the colorset.

But as mentioned, that would lengthen the ghosting time by quite a bit.
0-63 = faster than 0-255, 0-255, 0-255, 0-255.

But what about 0-4, 0-4, 0-4 and 0-4? We don't need plenty of shades of each color. I think just having 1 digit per RGBA wouldn't slow it down too much. 625 is a lot bigger than 64, you wouldn't be missing anything, and you wouldn't have too many colors.

-snip-

I didn't get a thing. But anyway, I think an RGBA system is better then alot of colorsets, thanks whoever suggested it.

Or how about that the server first sends a list of all the colors currently in use. Then when a new color is introduced it generates a new ID and announces it to all clients. That way we both get maximum flexibility but still an acceptable speed.

Change resolution then?

You really don't understand what resolution is do you? It makes the Blockland window smaller along with all its set features like the color-set. It would still be the same size compared to the entirety of the Blockland window.

You cannot change the size of the color-set by simply "Getting a bigger screen" or "Changing your resolution".

Simple, leave.

I don't know about you, but I don't join servers for no reason. Just leaving like that would defeat the purpose of why I joined, making that option suck that much more.

Sure, more colors would be great. But the color selector would have to be be shrunk.

Now you get it. The problem isn't that the window becomes too big, but rather that the HUD scales too much.

What? That's not what we were talking about at all.
You claimed that changing resolution changes the color selector size..

..you know. What ever. Just..what ever...

Don't flame eachother  :panda:
If Blockland makes this color wheel it won't get any  :cookie: because  :cookieMonster: ate em. Instead, free  :iceCream:
