I was arguing with my youth pastor is that title problem equals 1 or 9. I told him it equals 9cuz
1) 6/2(1+2) = 3
2) Now you have to do multiplication and division from left to right
6/2(3)
3) 3*3 = 9
What do you guys think?

Your YouthPastor must be poorly educated. It equals 9.

He's wrong.

I bet he also thought the world was going to end the other day, didn't he?

Christians are all bad at math.

Nope Saturday at cleanup day we were all having pizza and hes like "This must be heaven" :D

Confusing problem.  If it's 6/2(1+2) then it's 9, but if it's 6/(2(1+2)) it's one.  So you're right, but because you can't write it the way Wolfram|Alpha does you might confuse some people.

Y'all beat me to it :(

I like your stereotyping.

My sister just proved him wrong with a scientific calculator, he still wont give in! Lol  Just gave in... kinda lol

What is his logic?
That you do PEMDAS but you do M before D

That you do PEMDAS but you do M before D

And he's just ignoring the proof that he's wrong?

hm

If you had to use that website to figure that out then lol.
I didn't, I just used it to prove it.
