The old days, when the sun shone different spreading its golden rays all over the school yard. With their white shirts glowing in the sun hundreds of children stood, anxious to see the end of the school leaving celebration, while their parents watched the whole ordeal with great sense of pride.
Yes, it was a bright, sunny June afternoon when the hated school year finally ended. The national anthem was sung once more and the children finally went inside in neat rows to receive their certificates. The classrooms filled with anxiety, anticipation and a sense of joy as they were waiting to see their final results. Each child got his or her results one by one followed by the words of the form teacher. Barna got his too.
"Very nice! Your grade's average is 4.7, and you received laudation for your History, English, Arts and Hungarian Literature work " the form teacher said then she added "but you should also put more effort into Geography next time!" Barna didn't care too much though, the prospect of finally leaving the school for nearly 3 months was all he could think about. And the celebratory ice cream at the confectionery.
