Flew into 0.0 today on my PvP toon in a loose-fit Hyperion.  Saw two drakes fighting each other, so I decided to hop in and take them both out, turns out they both had backup coming.

Long story short, within 10 seconds of destroying the first drake, a had about 7 battleships and 3 battlecruisers surrounding me.
I took one Brutix out before I was blown to hell.

I and the entire EVE community have explained this a thousand times.

EVE servers, and now Dust, cost a lot of money.  Currently monthly payment adds up to $20, so make the game the standard $60 and that covers 3 months of current payment.

After 3 months they no longer make ANY profit to pay their servers from you, so suppose membership is really low the next three months, next thing you know, boom, EVE is bankrupt and you'll never play it again.

If you can't afford monthly payment, either get good and make ISK to pay for PLEX, or stop playing and complaining.

i've slowly taken up wormhole squatting, basically just scanning down highsec openings and running any valuable gas sites and some anomalies, then mining the grav sites if there's any mercoxit or if i'm bored

50-60m on an average day from the gas and salvage from the ladar/grav site rats alone, more if i run anomalies

i dont know if i'd ever get a capital ship if i move to null, my most expensive investment is a tengu that i'm terrified of using for anything because i'm afraid i'll lose it

mainly an incident where i thought i killed all the rats in a site, turned my tank off, and came back to be passive tanking at 34% shields for about 20 minutes

any more dps and i would've lost it, i got so lucky

I actually can't stand flying strat cruisers, I prefer just going in guns blazing versus tanking, my method loses a lot more ships though.

I'm in a corp allied with miners, so we get free ships up to a certain price and we run WH's for the miners to use, it's a mutual relationship for both of us

Oh. My. God. I love all of oyu. I was actually looking to bump this thread today wondering if anyone here still played EVE. My main account's sub expired but I am using my friends account (which I paid for using the power of 2 so i  get 6 months sub) and I train his skills to be a "pure bread" like my main. He currently has all his skills to fly his merlin. In fact, He got I got a kill today lol someone dueled me. And Also, He is training to use the Worm Perfectly. I bought a Worm already but I haven't taken it out of the station yet lol.

this game is so random help me

i made 130 million in gas and salvage and refined minerals from ore from a wormhole 2 days ago (and lost a 14m fit venture, totally worth it), only 10 yesterday, and nothing today

i actually almost got my drake ganked today, an onyx appeared on dscan as i was starting a site, several bubbles appeared midwarp but they were at the static and not my exit thankfully

Yay! My alt got his first kill today. I solo'd a Thorax in a Merlin. It was funny. 22m kill.
