I'd like to dismiss the notion that vanilla is "original" flavored.
Original-flavored ice cream tastes like cold milk and salt and ice. Ugh.
We're taught to believe vanilla is original because it's white, like the milk from which it's made. If we could suddenly make milk taste like vanilla, it'd be heaven on earth. But we must add flavoring. Ice cream that requires flavoring, any at all, is not original.
Vanilla's my favorite.
