Author Topic: Why do people make "RP" servers?  (Read 3046 times)

I host a jail RP but it's not an RP at all.
If you've ever played a CS:S jail RP you know what I mean.

Anywho, they're usually fun.

But yeah, the majority of RPs suck.

Most family RP's i find end up with this.

I took this picture, and i didn't stage it.

Usually in rps people just attention whore all day in hopes of being the main focus. That's why people always get random injuries. “WAH OW I BROKE LEG HELP ME ”

I usually role play at a friends server, the server itself wont be called role play just so no idiots come, but people who are well known to the host will join and have a good Role play.
Its mainly about who you are role playing with. Friends, you have a better time, but with random you don't know what they will do stickupyourbutt people, then it won't turn out so well.

I remember when there were no RP's and the DM's that existed were good.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are 11, too.

Also I agree with the OP. Most RPs suck. Although, Jail RPs are fun. <3

Not all RP's suck. I prefer the ones that usually just "happen". Like on some of my builds, they tend to attract some kind of role-playing, which I don't mind -as long as it's not some stupid major attention whoring- as they give some sort of a depth and use for my builds.

If the server is slightly good, it makes then look like a genius.  Im interested in them because I like VCE stuff and that's what RP is.

And to you Demian, what makes for a good RP server?
From my point of view an RP server does not need as much eventing as it needs mature players and good story. RPG on the other hand is much more event heavy.

Everytime I host something, people automatically start RP'ing in it. Especially my medieval server attracted RP'ers. As long as they don't bother me, that's fine. But when they start asking stuff like: "Hey King Leo, can I be your son?", the fun's over...

Somehow... I get all of the noobs. My server name is almost always "Game Hawg's Server" or "Game Hawg's Server of Stuff" Wait, I have just solved a Problem. Gtg make evil looking prints that threaten Ban.

If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me if they wanted a dog...

I've only ever seen one good RP, that was Knaz's Zombies in the **Bluezone. Sadly it died off due to inactivity a couple months ago.

That's funny. Last time I was random'd by a supposedly "arch-enemy" of mine.

because they are creative

What a forgeted up family.

Wait.  When you say RP, are you referring to those servers where they pretend stuff or the server where you play as someone in a fully evented build that is actually fun?
