Author Topic: Looking for a desktop.  (Read 1017 times)

Remember that thread where I wanted a laptop, know I want a desktop.

I need more than 4 GB of RAM, and over 3 GHz Qaud Core, thanks.

Or I could have a list of parts that would fit together because I have no skills on PC parts

Thanks

I just recently went with the Phenom ii x4 965 Black Edition for my PC
3.4Ghz Quad, around $120 or so (I think)

Maybe you could take a look at it.

I'm thinking about that processor for my build, how does it hold up? and what gpu did you pair it with?

Would the nVIDIA 590 Ti work with it?

And  what motherboard and ram would work with it?

590 would be way too powerful to go with a phenom ii x4 hahha. do you possibly mean 560?

Why would it be to powerful, would the Intel 2,600k work with the GPU?

The nvidia gtx 590 is a $750 video card. you don't need it. unless you're planning on running 3 1080p (or bigger) screens/projectors in 3D mode, there is absolutely no need. but yes, an overclocked 2600k wouldn't be a bad choice to go with it, i think.

Well I wanna have 3 Moniters, and thats the only nVIDIA that has it.

i believe there are other nvidia cards that can drive 3 monitors, but maybe not. anyways, radeon has a much wider selection of cards built for that kind of thing. go with radeon.

Maybe he wants to future proof himself?  If he has no budget limit there's nothing wrong with going with a 590ti but I advise a better Intel processor in that case.

What processer?

Radeon 6850
It's nice, supposedly this setup should handle pretty much anything out at the moment. I haven't tested that theory on any new games yet though.
