Author Topic: I now have 3 working legs.  (Read 1871 times)

So I just got surgery, my doctor made small incisions on my ankle and dug around in there, pinned down a floating bone and scraped out some swelling. The entire procedure lasted about 3 hours. This is the timeline:
7 A.M: Arrive at hospital
9 A.M: Enter OR
As soon as I get carted in, various things get attached to me which I couldn't see because I was staring a the ceiling. "Here Jacob, breathe through this..." A nurse hands a mask, the air in it smells rather funny then I blacked out.
12:45 P.M: I finally reach the point where my brain can control my body and I know what is going on around me, I couldn't either because my anesthetic was still working on me.
In other words, I have learned to use crutches, got my first IV drip, got my first surgery and all sorts of other stuff.

The anesthetic or one of the drips they gave me did something to my fingers, my right hand was where the IV was inserted, I have that fallen-asleep feeling on my top section of my left thumb, index and middle finger.

Turns out, the doctor was rather fond of dressing wounds. I am 6 foot, there is at
least 8 pounds of dressings from my toes to about 2 inches below my kneecap.

My right ankle hurts a lot now, for comparison, a heavy steel point stabbing into the bottom of my foot then getting 8 stitches in it while awake and with no form of anesthetic or anything to dull the pain on a 7 year old boy has nothing against this right now. Despite being given a generic painkiller on-par with morphine when swallowed it stills hurts a lot.

I was just given crutches (never used crutches before, mind you) and I can already move faster than a lot of people walking.

Holy stuff, you're seven?

Holy stuff, you're seven?
if he's 6 foot

he's at least 12

Read it again.

Oh wow, now I get it. I was confused at first :u

crutches made me nearly break my neck

Last time I has crutches I broke somebody's toe.

Wait, I heard something wrong. The painkiller is actually waaaay stronger than vicodin.

I thought your 3rd leg would either be a horrible deformity or your snake.

I was thoroughly disappointed.

wait, there's only 1 good leg and 2 crutches?

Same, but when I used to do Zen Do Kai (some karate type thing), there was this kid that was 8, and he was really, really tall.

I'm 5.6 and a few months into being 12.
