Playing as Peter in Civ IV, my Russian empire spanned half of my continent. Then the damn Spanish got all pissy and jealous and tried to sack my cities. So I razed all of their cities on the mainland and pushed them to a small island to the east.

I played Civ IV one day, at 3PM, lost track of time and realized it was 7am and that I had to go to school in an hour. Haven't played since.

I played as the Germans in Civ IV. Chose Facism and built large armies. My nation ended with several nuclear reactor melt downs followed by attacks by enemies, fun nonetheless

I got Civ V because it was recommended to me when I was looking for a game like Rise of Nations, they are not the exact same thing, but they are pretty close.

I've played 4 and 5, I like 5 more than 4, which is likely due to the graphics.

I bought Civ IV at Half-Price Books for $3.98. Dude

Hurray for stuffty camera phone pictures by naught but the light of a laptop screen.

oh god
the first time i heard that when booting up civ 4
my life changed
forever

I was disappointed with civ V. Not the gameplay. The game itself is amazing, but the intros. The one for civ IV was the most amazing thing I have seen in my life and I love that "in the beginning" part, but civ V had nothing cool like that. The bar was just set too high.

Civ IV had some great gameplay attributes, technology trading, religion, espionage, etc.

But Civ V takes the stage, with amazing graphics, a change to the hex grid, and overall better GUI look and feel.

I have like Civ II I think, all I remember is all my dad's cities had global warming warnings.

I have to say that Civ V was the least satisfying 50 bucks I've ever spent :\
