I like to think I set the tone for everyboty. It was my sense of humor that was predominately posted on the site for a long time, so it's fairly safe to assume that people similar to me were drawn to it.

For an admin to have influence over their users, they must maintain a presence in the community. From what I've seen and heard, badspot is not very active on Blockland at all.
