Author Topic: I'm considering enlisting in the military  (Read 7040 times)

I spoke to an Air Force recruitment office. With my clean record (no police record, traffic tickets, drugs, alcohol, tattoos, piercings, and having 67 college credits), I am highly qualified for recruitment. That's good to hear considering the Air Force is probably the hardest branch to get into.

if you have great grades maybe you'd be able to go to one of the academys? if you enlist I'd highly suggest going in the air-force because you could go for air crew or the SF such as pararescue

People people people, you don't join the air force and fly planes. You join the air force and do other stuff. You can't just join and be like, hey I want to be a pilot, it doesn't work that way.
every branch of the service has aircraft except the army who has helicopters

Helicopters are actually still a form of aircraft. The only difference is upwards propellors, instead of forward.

helicopters are rotorcraft

um what

Yeah they do, they're using them a lot in Afghanistan and Libya. And F-22 strike raptors? No. There's only like 168 F-22s built, and they're mostly used for air superiority. Also, I don't think there's a ground attack version of the F-22. That would be the F-15 strike eagle.
any fighter can have bombs attached to it, id bet you 1,000,000 dollars that there's been a GBU-16 attached to a F-22

It's still an aircraft. Regardless of it being rotory or fixed wing an aircraft is a mid-air traveling vehicle.

I don't think he wants to join pararescue, PJs have pretty much the hardest training of anything else and it's for two years, pay isn't even that great and it's a not a very safe role.

Join the Air Force because they'll be the ones to do space combat when it happens.

They always take the smart people so they cant do anything

I may join the Navy. Also to everyone who thinks being in the Military is all about fighting, killing, and bloodshed, it isn't. There's more than the front lines like you described.

no.
you don't want to die.

Well if were posting now what WE plan on doing, I'm planning on going to the Naval Academy hopefully to be a pilot...

I want to join Army or Marines through OCS after college or ROTC during it.

Hey ,Bones.

If you wanna join the Army, then you'd best out some thought into it. I admit, the pay is amazing, but one of my friends used to be in the Army and he served as a sniper. He said that once you enlist, you have so serve a year or so, but I can't remember.
But if you want to enlist, then have a think about it.
