It's actually not the head gear that allows him to shoot lasers from his eyes. The head gear just suppresses his powers making it easier for him to control it.

Blockand isn't very good when it comes to making lasers because they can't really travel at the speed of light AND have a trail at the same time.
You can only have one or the other.

i know but it only makes sense the way i put it, otherwise i would be asking for blockheads to have lasers shoot from their faces unless they put this on, and that would just be silly
