I've done this, and they ignored me.

Please stop writing bullstuff if you have no experience with it.

How much violence did the anti-mubarik protesters do themselves?

They don't know my age on the internet, by signing it I said I was 18 or older.  Basically I took my parent's votes.

Even still, why wouldn't the governor answer an e-mail from a citizen for 2 months?  Does she really get that much e-mail?  I think not.

So you lied.

That's why internet petitions don't work. Instead of lulzsec idea of "justice", why not get off your ass and protest? What has the big, bad government done to you in the first place?

They hacked CIA websites and CIA is doing nothing.

What.

So you lied.

They are encroaching on internet freedom.  The bill they want to pass is to force US search engines to censor search results to avoid certian topics and websites.

This is not loving Australia.

So hacking the stuff out of them is the answer? By doing that they give the government even more reason to censor what we do.

Also, how are they going to pass a bill if so many people don't want it? The US isn't a dictatorship.

A better comparison would have been China, but whatever.

And hacking government websites isn't an effective strategy to "fight back".
If anything, these internet "extremists" just appear to be childishly misbehaving.

And as Narkro said, you dont live under a tyrant.
Your parents get the vote.
Your country can vote against it.
It's at this moment that rallies and petitions help to spread the view on this bill and aid in ensuring it doesn't get passed.
You don't achieve that by hacking into government websites and gaming networks.

The governor can't do much, especially at the federal level. You're contacted the wrong person.
But I don't think you should be contacting anyone until you get old enough to actually understand things.

They hacked CIA websites and CIA is doing nothing.

What.
They didn't hack their website, they took it down for a couple hours. It's not like they stole all of their secrets.

You don't seem to understand the difference between a Republic and a Democracy.

We do not live in a Democracy; we live in a Republic.  We don't get to vote on every issue.  I'm lucky to have heard about this bill, most people don't know about it.  The representatives are deciding whether or not this goes through, not the people.

But the people decide the representatives.

Quote from: Wikipedia page "Democracy"
Democracy is a form of government in which all citizens have an equal say in the decisions that affect their lives. Ideally, this includes equal (and more or less direct) participation in the proposal, development and passage of legislation into law.
tl;dr: America is literally a Democratic Republic.

But the people decide the representatives.
The representatives don't campaign on internet laws just yet, unfortunately.  When they do, I will be glad to have my representative at the legislation.

Honestly dude you baffle me with your stupidity.

Greece was a *Democracy*.  They met daily and decided on every piece of legislature brought to the attention of the Forum.  We do not do that, we have too many people to do that.
