OP should have specified what kind of zombie apocalypse it is. Is it just a regional thing, like an entire city or state, or is it the entire country? Is it worldwide? What kind of zombies are they? Shambling and slow but nigh-invincible, only killable by cranial destruction or quick moving runners that die like any other person?

For example, if it was just a regional apocalypse, I'd definitely bring a laptop because the rest of the world is still there.

I would set up a base and keep all my heavy stuff fortified there, and only take light stuff, like a small pistol, ammo and some canned beans to go look for stuff.
I would keep my sleeping bag, tools, food and heavy weapons in my base which I would barricade.
