Author Topic: What supplies would you bring in a Zombie Apocalypse?  (Read 30818 times)

I wish everyone thought of the emotional trauma of this.

I do. If I was a survivor in any sort of post-apocalyptic situation in which everything and everyone I know and love is gone, I would probably have a complete mental breakdown.

This, half the people here, or all, would not last knowing that everyone they know are infected beings. I probably would end up having a mental breakdown also, I would not have the mental strength to deal with that.

Also if you watched The Walking Dead, *spoiler alert* when that one black guy in the Sheriff's town tried to shoot his undead wife, he hesitated a forget ton, that is what would happen if you were to shoot someone you have known for years, not to mention a loved one.

Sorta Off Topic: If the post-apocalyptic situation is zombies, I would have a mental breakdown, if it was a nuclear fallout, probably not. I would be close to one but not as bad, because ya know, I won't have to fight off people I have known.

I wouldn't want to survive a nuclear holocaust.

I wouldn't want to survive a nuclear holocaust.
Nuclear holocausts don't create zombies. They create ghouls. Duh.

I don't care what it makes I don't want to live the rest of my short life slipping into insanity huddled in a corner in some deep underground vault, just me and the roosterroaches because everything else is dead.

Oh god surviving a nuclear holocaust would be awful.
I would probably curl up and wait to die. If anything, I'd head to the police station to find a gun to kill myself with so I don't have to die a slow death from radiation or starvation.

I'm pretty sure I'd be able to push on in the long run without emotional toll, I'd rather survive and die when it comes then kill myself.

radiation settels everywhere
even if you wore a mask 24/7 you'd catch it pretty quick

What I would do for sleep: I would probably take a Storage Unit, lock it up, put all my supplies in it (and me), and try to be as quiet as possible. This would be a convenient place to spend a few days and fix weapons / clean guns / check maps. No zombie is getting into a locked storage unit. They are roomy, warm, and are safezone's.

Also: Vehicles would be good until you hit a roadblock. Having something like the Pittsburgh SWAT Vehicle would solve the issue. I doubt there would be many jams. I would imagine traffic would keep moving even if that meant running over zombies. The thing is, if 2 cars wreck and block the road, thats the end of that until a bigger car moves them out of the way.

If you do end up being found you are forgeted though, there is no way of getting out of the storage unit alive if there's a crowd of zombies around the door.

Fire a bullet through the door and see how many are outside. If there are tons, shoot a few holes and start firing. They will never break the door down no matter how hard they try. Thats the idea behind storage units. Make them strong so they don't get broken into. If you don't see any zombies or just a limited number, get your gun ready. I also advise travelling with a survivor.

2 Humans vs 1 Zombie = Humans Win
2 Humans vs 2 Zombies = Humans Win
2 Humans vs Horde = Humans Win (if cards played right)

The problem isn't them breaking in but you getting out. Ofcourse it would depend on how many were outside but, you'd end up wasting alot of ammo if it was a crowd and run the risk of attracting even more.

I was actually thinking of that. Good point, sir.
