Author Topic: There's no need to fear, Firefox 5 is here  (Read 5960 times)

I had someone download this file using IE: http://www.minecraft.net/download/Minecraft_Server.exe?v=1308610154966
IE downloaded it as Minecraft_Server.exe?v=1308610154966.

This is outrageous, the server sends "Minecraft_Server.exe", hidden away in the header, to the client. All other browsers download it properly. Why the forget is IE the only browser that can't do stuff correctly and disobey every single networking standard there is?

Yes I know only people who don't know anything about computers use Internet explorer but I have to use it cause I'm to lazy to reinstall firefox.
Oh and /support

=/ no one read that post so ill report it
Since you can't spell, ill fix it.
Opera has Opera Turbo, a service that compresses webpages before sending them to you to make loading faster.
Perfect for someone with slow internet.

Everything was fine for me. Why would it ask you to reboot?

I think firefox 4 was a sucess to me because of the amazing add-on features a whole page just for add-ons and skins.

FireFox's shortcut opens a new window of history
Isn't that EXACTLY what chrome did?

with the dates sorted to drop down columns
If you know what you're looking for type it into the search

And the history right click for chome only shows for that tab.
You sound like the messiest web-browser I have ever met. Keep your damn tabs organized, I open a new tab for everything I do that way if I get bored of looking at the forums I can click my Youtube tab and go back 3 videos via right click without having to scroll down through 5000 Blockland pages.

I really like the history feature to allow me to stay on the same page while checking/clearing it so.
Then go ahead and stick with Firefox, that's personal preference not something that makes it better than Chrome.

Firefox has always had addons, how is that any different?

Then go ahead and stick with Firefox

tripplenickels: "fight fight firefox hate firefox hate, chrome better, whine whine"
tripplenickels: "oh just use what you want all people are different durr"

Well in firefox 4 they made a whole page devoted to add-ons.

I'm arguing on behalf of Chrome's badassness. I won't let other people spread rumors about it, I couldn't care less if you used it or not though. As long as your browser is intelligent enough to know what a canvas is, I'm fine with your browser.

I might as well change the name to this topic to "The best web broswer"

Isn't that EXACTLY what chrome did?
No, it opened it in a new tab and I had to switch back to see my page again

If you know what you're looking for type it into the search
FireFox also has a search as well.

I see no problem with that. Unless you're the type of person who wants everything chronologicaly ordered, there is nothing wrong with. Besides, if you want to find previous windows, just start typing in the video name in the header, FireFox fills it in for you. Chrome's autofill is just the main site and google searching.

Oh, and you have no choice of what search to use. You can customize that with FireFox.

Versus opening a new window and having to close it to see your page again

FireFox also has a search as well.
I didn't say it didn't

Google Chrome suggests it, I guess Firefox is better because to get to the video you have to press the down arrow twice on your keyboard or move your mouse 200 pixels to click on it.
