The download system is another part of Chrome I hate. There's a little bar in the bottom that shows, but when I clicked on it, it went to the file I was downloading's page again instead of the downloads tab itself.
If you want it to go away with chrome click another tab. I can't stand when programs make more than one window, that would make me uninstall Firefox immediately.
It's not like another full window, it's a small one you can bring back and forth with a command. Much better then blocking view from your current page.
I was saying that if you knew what you were searching for you could just type it in instead of searching for it by date.
Actually, I dislike when browsers touch my URL bar without my permission. My URL bar is what I typed in or what I clicked, not what my browser thinks I want.
It doesn't actually disrupt your text, it searches a database of previous pages (both page titles and url) and gives quick suggestions underneath.
I can't even think of 10 search engines off the top of my head, Google included the ones that matter, and if you want to use another type "name" then hit tab and enter your search value like "Youtube[tab]Nyan cat" and you get a list of youtube videos about a nyan cat on youtube.com
The search bar has google bing and yahoo, like Chrome. It also has a direct wikipedia search, and ebay, and ask.com as well.
Oh, and FireFox does that too. The search bar has suggestions that pop up, not about previous pages, but popular ones all over the internet with that tag. Essentially, it's google's suggestion system expect directly accessible from your current page.
