What would make me happy would be if someone made a mod so that servers only accepted people who actually paid for the game.

You're a real rooster, aren't you?  What is your issue with players that didn't pay for the game in the first place?  They get fewer hats than you and can't trade properly.  What more do you want?

Me and probably many others still can't help but feel ripped off.
Its not just money I had to put in to get TF2, and now people are getting almost all of it for free. They should pay to play like those who had to do much more then click a link.

Then go to bed.  You should feel a bit better in the morning.  Just think about the benefits you've had and that you have now.  You got to play the game at most 4 years before all of the new players.

Whatever. I still find it annoying when my teammates don't know what they're doing whatsoever and we get steamrolled. So the occasional server with a break from that would be great.

And to be honest, the veteran benefits aren't as good as some say. It's a hat. Oh boy. And many people are ripped off on trades, people who haven't paid are generally more likely to fall for things like that with their lack of knowledge. And gifting is very rare.

Not as far as I know. I hope someone makes a server mod for it though.

I'm not too butthurt about them dropping 20 bucks, but I find it ridiculous that they gave us a corny hat of all things to give to us in return.  They seriously got out of hand with the hats, they are stupid.  The hat they gave us isn't even cool or really represent anything.  It's just some random hat.   
If they would have at least put some thought into the hat in representing TF2 or representing a proof of purchase or something, not just some dumb old war hat.

I think the joke is that the hat is from another time period. And while I like it, I agree that it could be a more relevant hat. Like give everyone a unique hat with the TF2 "unusual" particle effect.

Yeah exactly, something unique to TF2, not some BS they took from the civil war or something.
