can't really say I don't play a mage right if I don't have any of those skills except mist ...

It's DoT stacking, the skills may suck but when you add them all in you are hitting like 50-60k DoT stacked.


Fun fact: Fire poison mages actually have the HIGHEST DPS in the whole game because of DoT stacking.  The reason they are generally considered un-powerful is because the damage cap hinders them from actually having the highest DPS.
