I don't know what the reviewers were complaining about. The graphics aren't that bad, they are even better than Portal 2. The aiming is quite accurate, I haven't had an issue with sluggish controls. The AI isn't as dumb as most reviews have claimed. The driving and platform mechanics aren't too bad, it took me less than five minutes to get through.

The multiplayer is damn fun I haven't had a single issue with it so far.

its ugly and unfunny and doesnt even hold its own as a shooter.

5/10 is mediocre and that perfectly describes this game.

The load times, the graphics aren't "better than portal 2" though, they're okay at most. They're not necessarily bad but just not exactly new.

I heard the game was pretty much just lots of worse-than-before, not-funny-like-almost-two-decades ago humor and pointless interactions.

Some essential context and basic things are missing. The game feels too predictable and and very rigid.

Not enough classic, too much Cod influence.

I thought it looked like an HD mod for Doom3.
Now that's my opinion but: Duke engine is not very far above the Doom 3 addon.

Plus I noticed that it doesn't have great dynamic shadows like Doom. You can find an example while driving the toy car with the headlights on. The projected light renders through objects.

Oh yes it does. Fallout 3 doesn't exactly have the best looking graphics yet their review had graphics rating considerably very high.
