Author Topic: Low end graphics card that supports dynamic lighting?  (Read 1437 times)

I wanna run Gmod smooth and with shadow casting and that jazz. Anyone know of a cheap card that supports it?

What's your budget?
How far are you willing to go to get it?

budget is anything reasonable. like 50-100 dollars

what do you mean "willing to go"?

sometimes you need to spend a little gas.

Actually, I think he meant more of a "how many people would you kill for a free one?"

I thought my Laptop sucks balls but it can run Garry's mod on high settings C:

Most Dynamic Lighting options in games are DX10 only features, so you'd need a reasonably recent card, somewhere around the ATI Radeon HD 5770+ area if you also want decent performance.
I don't think you can get DX10 cards from old stock, but I might be completely wrong about it needing to be a DX10 card, so do some research :/

I have an ATI Radeon HD 5450 and my gmod runs fine.
The card was like $50.

Radeon HD 4550 was 45 bucks and I can run Mw2 with it.

Yes. I have the same card and from what I've put it through, it runs exceptionally well.
It's a pretty good card IMO.

All the cards in the HD 5400 series support DX11 as far as I can see, so it should be able to handle it

9800GT.

Practically runs most Source games on highest settings, is cheap by now and supports DX10 + dynamic lighting.
