wait, is it that easy to get custom items legitimately into the game now?
if so what the forget

You submit them to the Workshop and if both "we the people" and Valve like them then they go in

not really, you submit it, but valve doesn't check THAT often

I'm sure items with potential copyright/stuff of that sort doesn't get in that easily.

you're not understanding the gravity of how stuffty pony-related items would look ingame
A good three quarters of the miscellaneous items in TF2 are not immediately recognizable as being from a certain franchise except by someone who has involved themselves with it. Hell I still have to remind myself that the Maul is a Red Faction promo and not actually Breakdown's hammer arm.

also, it would spark a big controversy and valve doesn't want that
Bull stuff Valve loves trolling their fans.

and
to yet again acknowledge the huge elephant in the room
controversy

ah that's true, they've trolled the stuff out of everyone so hard

no I meant that the items themselves would look like stuff with tf2's style
also, style isn't just color
the items you posted before are in tf2's style

have a derp
you're supposed to grab the image not the page it's on

breaks once works the next second what the forget

Neither you nor me know what these hypothetical items would even be, so it's a pretty good guess that if Valve is actually putting them in the game, then they would "fit the style".
I put that in quotes because bright pink facial hair and Cat-in-the-Hat hats don't fit into 60's spy-fi at ALL.

Goodnight guys.

Gonna conclude tonight whilst sleeping on the couch with a cold root beer and I guess I'll put on Episode 3 of Season 2 for the hell of it.

<3

it's either not gonna look like mlp or it's gonna look stuff ingame
well, the cat in the hat hat looks like stuff, I never disagreed with it
I personally never see people wearing them lol
as for the pink hair, that's another thing I never see anyone wearing. the item itself fits the style, the paint just doesn't.
ultimately there's a very, very low chance valve will accept a pony item, so I don't even want to bother arguing this

When I see the pyro's necktie, I don't think "oh, that's from Killing Floor". When I see the frying pan, I don't think "that's the weapon from Left 4 Dead 2". When I see the scout's sword, I don't think "that's a weapon from that game nobody played called 'The Wanker' or something". All the promo items are generic enough that someone who's involved can catch the reference, and people who aren't can still appreciate the cool new item, and this would apply to any kind of hypothetical MLP item they put in.

Obviously you did, or you wouldn't have started arguing about it.

If you think a few additional promo items are going to cause "controversy", then I'm going to encourage you to look at the reactions to the mann-conomy update, the free to play announcement, and the "halocaust".
