i'm actually not sure if i ever ir/rationalized it in the past
though i do know i've said several times that it doesn't bother me, i don't care if people do or don't, and it doesn't have any affect to my personal life so i don't see why it should matter to me

I'll go with you just don't care about the public opinion mainly because I respect that trait.

I look at clop like I look at all love and research. With a set of checks. I think it needs at least human level intelligence or better, compatible parts(least important), appropriate age, and understanding and consent.

I like to reference Mass Effect for this. Think of a turien and human relationship. The first to attempt it were probably ostracized much like we are and much like early interracial couples. If something is sentient and feels the same way, I don't see how why it would ever be unacceptable.
