Most of their profit comes from young girls, the actual target demographic of the entire franchise, while a majority of bronies don't actually watch the show on TV/DVD and buy show related stuff from other bronies.
We just need to accept the fact that the franchise doesn't specifically cater to us.
I'm not sure if that's correct or not. I do know that bronies ARE buying merchandise, albeit maybe less in stores and more online out of some sense of public image (not an issue for anyone in this thread, though).
It occurs to me that some closet bronies might avoid the hassle of being hassled for their tastes by claiming they're buying it for their relatives, decieving polls that they might believe are not very anonoymous or simply out of habit.
It's a long and extensive debate, and I'd need to do some serious studies to figure it out. I suppose it would help if their toys weren't quite so... sub-par.
