i think daddy raped you with his blender richard

Bronies like to say that the show lets them feel like they're in their childhood again, and helps them feel better, how are you to talk?

The only problem is My Little Pony was never in their childhood to begin with.

Oh god who'd even want that as an avatar.
A strange person. Because I DON'T CONDONE THIS KIND OF loving STUPID ROMANCE BETWEEN CARTOON HORSES? IT'S MESSED UP.

I AM NOT ATTRACTED TO CARTOON HORSE love

I JUST LIKE THIS SHOW

AND DERPY HOOVES

GOG AUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

The only problem is My Little Pony was never in their childhood to begin with.

And that's the creepy thing about it.
It's acceptable for someone to still like Pokemon since it was something they'd enjoyed in their childhood, [Unless if they're really obsessed and go to the point of being a manchild], but a lot of bronies act like the show was in their childhood and they're just remembering it.

are you and tony like, troubled in real life? lol
The psychological response when a person sees a pleasure they cannot acquire, is to demean it's value in an attempt to console themselves. This is a similar situation. Instead of insulting the show, they are placing ridiculously convoluted labels and diagnoses over the reason why people like it other then the fact that they just like the animation and storyline.

"The show cannot be considered good in the sense that it brings the viewer closer to their childhood, because the cartoon isn't showing during their childhood"

That makes about as much sense as if photos printed off of a computer from a scanned filmroll do not bring the same nostalgia effect as the original film.

they are troubled lol!

Look around, it's a damn fad. There is people collecting toys, watching the show every day, making fan art, converting others, dressing up like a pony, etc. You know what this whole thing reminds me of? This whole Pony fad reminds me of pokemon in 1998, this fad is so loving similar it's god damn creepy.

Alight, let's take a look at some other popular TV shows, shall we? For instance, I watch Doctor Who. I was "converted" by my friend into watching it and I happen to own some merchandise. And I've also seen a lot of fan art of it and people dressing up as the doctor for conventions and such. It is liked by all ages, kids, teen, adults. This fits perfectly into your definition of a "Fad". But this show has been going on since the 50s and hasn't lost popularity.

Now your definition of a fad can fit into every TV show in existence, even if it's a kids show or not. Pokemon, Yu-Gi-oh, Family Guy, Simpsons, Lost, Star Trek (A big one), Transformers, Battlestar Galactica, etc. You get the point. All of them. They have all become "fads" according to you, making your argument of people obsessing over this show irrelevent. And if you like any other tv show, you're now just being hypocritical.

I dont even have to be a brony to tell you you're arguing to provoke and not to prove any valid point. I'm saying this from a neutral side. Just stop.

It's also worth stating that Lord Tony is using the word, "Convert" as a substitution for, "Show". Which means that he's substituting, "You need to watch this now or else" for, "Hey dude, I found this new show. Want to see?"

-snip-
Why you so smart?
Also Off-topic I watched a lot of Doctor who I started when I was about 5 or 6 and now I'm 14. I love that show.

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS.

Shipping and fanfiction are things which I want to have incinerated. If those two weren't so accepted in this fanbase, then maybe there would be a bit more dignity. And now I have to get all wrapped up in this generalization because stuff sucks. Baw.

The majority of the fanbase.

And the majority of the fanbase say they are just normal pony fans, and end up posting some gross pony images/fanfiction afterwards.
They like to lie.

i love your generalizations please come up with more ridiculous ones

All fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic forget actually horses in real-life.

Yu-Gi-Oh - became a fad for a short amount of time but never actually had the chance to compete with pokemon.

Family Guy - who even knows by this point.

Simpsons - never was a fad to begin with. It was just an incredibly popular show because it truly was for all ages.

Lost - I don't even know but I'm assuming it's not as I haven't seen people talk about it.

Star Trek - actually it's more of a cult.

Transformers - Generation 1 was a huge fad. The other transformer generations became popular but never reached fad status.

Battlestar - it's more of a cult like star trek.
