You could if you really wanted to, but I'm not really calling myself one since personally, people can have opinions but not have pride over them/entitle themselves to it.
Not that I'm insulting people who call themselves bronies, though.

I don't enjoy the title on myself, though I don't think anyone has called me one before either.

So basically Apht understands why we like it, just not why it's overhyped.

The line theory.

The like one has for a show can be represented by a line that can be drawn between their expectations from the show and how well it impressed them. Obviously because ponies everybody thought it would be this stereotypical girly mass of heaping ass. It was the complete opposite though, the far other side of the graph, effectively positively shading the entire graph showing a very high like and interest.

Brony seems like the people who are all crazy about the show (reading fanfics, making music, PMVs, etc)

I just call myself a fan who has a bunch of pictures.

Well, really, there's a difference between being a fan and a brony.
If you title yourself "Brony", then you might probably find pride into watching the show, much like how a furry calls himself Furry and a christian would call himself Christian, etc etc.

so until then i'll just count you as Neutral :D

It's all a matter of opinion, and it's best not to start stuff with opinions

there are too many different definitions for the "word".

I wish i realized that a while ago.

But we're all people [Or forumers in this case] ,so generally the "brony" title isn't needed.

That I can agree with.

how about we just forget the word "brony" and just use fan because that makes all of it much less of a jargon clusterforget

Woahsnip
That's exactly how it was for me except I was neutral at first. I decided to humor myself and watch the first two episodes, it hit me hard that there was actually a lot more in play.
