Alright, here's the story.
After Derpy was revealed in "The Last Roundup", Hasbro/The Hub/FiM started recieving both negative and positive feedback about her. The negative ones are typically about them being offended that (basically) everything about Derpy mocks disabled/handicapped/(other generic word) individuals. (the argument against this is that she is simply ditzy, not handicapped)
There is a petition going on (well under 100 signatures) that is titled "Change Derpy Hoove's eyes, name, and behavior, release an official apology.", there might be others too but I haven't found them, eitherway, I think Hasbro may have caught wind of it and is trying to take down Derpy Hooves merchandise from the We Love Fine shop. There is nothing official out yet, but it's possible they might remove Derpy entirely, so the fans are starting to make their move against it.
There is a
counter petition going on that is beating the other by a milestone, there is also a #SaveDerpy thing on Twitter going on as well.
Equestria Daily made an uninformative post, but has a link to the petition and a We Love Fine link.
seems like drama mostly, but I can't say I'd want to loose Derpy either.
