This was probably the funniest episode I've seen in a long time. Ending was generic though, but then again, you can only fit so much into 20 minutes.

Fluttershy being dumb and trusting him but later showing that she actually had a plan all along, Discord so easily giving in despite being super evil and the master of chaos

i had an idea

okay, so next week 's episode is called "Keep Calm and Flutter On" and i know Discord is in it. i haven't read the synopsis and don't plan to either.
anyway, i had a theory. the name implies it is a Fluttershy episode, but at the same time Discord is involved. what if Fluttershy tries to turn Discord around to the good side, and Discord becomes a new minor character?

i win

though i still think it will be a load of bullstuff that Discord returns at all (if he is actually returning, i'm not entirely sure about that)
it doesn't make sense to revive him, though obviously if they do they must need his power or knowledge to do something.

i still think there should have been a better reason than "we could use his powers for good"

I think the problem with this and the Trixie episode is that they were too good to fit properly into a 20 minute episode. The problem in Magic Duel was that they had this grand epic Star Wars-esque plot, and had to fit it into 20 minutes. The problem in this was mainly character building, or lack thereof. I think they could have pulled off the ending better if they built up the relationship more than five lines, making the loss all the more. What saved this episode for me was Discord himself. I don't think I have to explain it any further. Also, I bet the animators had a lot of fun with this episode, and this is my (very close) second favorite episode this season, despite the abrupt ending.
