zecora has had more wise mentor airtime than celestia
As relevant as that is, zecora is not a specific mentor to any particular character, as Celestia is to Twilight.

I am personally loving pissed that this random kid gets his own stuff put in just because he has parents who are loving rich and high up in the industry, while the rest of us get ignored. I'm willing to bet that if I had "connections" like this kid did I would be able to outline an episode for season four. But noooooooooooooo, my parents are nobodies so there's no way I could ever get anything in.

we're not even sure how much input he actually had, or if he was actually 15. these claims have yet to be really confirmed
he could have just dropped a line like "what if fluttershy made discord good", and dave took the idea from there. we don't really know

you complain about such things too much

Well, word is he claims to have done most of the story outline and someone else finished it for him because of a time crunch.
And regardless, I would love to see an episode made from just one line from me, like "What if a changeling's been hiding in ponyville this whole time and it's not evil". I wouldn't care where they took that one, maybe it would bear no resemblance whatsoever to my OC, but I really wouldn't care, because at least I would be able to prove that you don't need to be born into an influential family to see your work used.

I probably do, but I have never been one to do well at tolerating selection bias.

selection bias
lol

you don't get dealt the best cards and that makes everything unfair

Are those button things even available anymore?

Just because you feel small and insignificant (and jealous ect.) doesn't mean you can't make an impact
You need to take action

action: go to college, learn the skills, do exactly what this guy supposedly did
in a nutshell, that's what i'm doing. it won't impact this show, but will impact shows i'm part of

might not be as quick and easy, but that's life
i personally can only hope whatever i am part of becomes a hit like this show, so i can be as cool as tara and others, communicating with the fans

I'm basically just raging right now. I'll go back to my usual attitude once I've managed to let it out. I think I'll go type something up elsewhere.

That's why I have so little faith in humanity.

But stalking Meghan McCarthy to try to get her to even look at a fan-made storyboard would be illegal.
(In case it wasn't obvious, that was a joke.)

That's why I have so little faith in humanity.

because you don't get the quick and easy path?

Because nobody but a select few do, and they usually don't act very grateful about it, which is why I'm all hateful about it.

I need to do something constructive to burn off my excess rage. Any suggestions?

Bill, it's the world live in. There is extremely little you can do about it. You would probably act the same if you were in their position.

it's not a selection
he wasn't hand-picked to be in his position

i would call it luck, but reality is he just happened to be the one.

By "select few" I meant "lucky few", my bad.
I was hoping for something constructive, as in something I could do to work toward doing something about it.

That's my point. I hate the way the world works sometimes.
Whenever someone says that everyone is "born equal" I laugh, because it's clearly not the case.
We never know what we've got unless we've lived without it. It's at the root of human nature, and that's why I have so little faith in humanity.
