Do you always blame other people for the poor quality of your art?
It's mediocre. No interesting lighting, no interesting colouring, it is obvious you don't spend a great deal of time on them, no interesting poses, ugly lines, zero shading and showing few signs of improvement. You're not even humble, you don't seem to see anything wrong with your own work.
Why don't you ignore what other people are doing and try improving your work?
Somebody had to say it. Insulting art that in my opinion is better than yours in every way except anatomy is just crossing the line.
Let me get this perfectly clear here. My art is bad because I use defining lines,
don't have an interesting color scheme, have
boring poses,
and do not shade?If we're going to talk about art, let's talk about art. Your anatomy is stuff, legs are noodles that bend funny, heads and faces look like they went through the washing machine(I'm not even going to start on not having mouths or nostrils), every mane you've drawn looks like anime garbage. Your ponies look like blobs of color slapped on a background that doesn't always contrast it well. Your art is pastels and water colors given to an 8 year old. You talk about poses but looking through your dA you seem to stick to three: one foreleg up, two forelegs up, standing. I'll be the smart one here and admit that ponies are hard to pose differently. Don't take for granted the
gifts you've been given. Truth be told I hate your art. You're incredibly lucky I have absolutely no say in who is considered a decent artist anywhere because your stuff would not be near the top.
As for the egotistical part. I know there are many artists better than me. I've said it on quite a few occasions and to you personally at least twice. I do not begrudge my betters, I begrudge the people like the one I linked on the last page. The people who have a lucky break and get one of their pictures accepted even though it can have a stuffty looking part like that one has. I'm not content with my lot in art right now, so I'm going to fix it. That doesn't mean I'm not going to moan and groan along the way. Don't even try to imply that you didn't do the same.
As for my art being mediocre, I guess we do share an opinion there. There are things I can improve on, yeah, but never assume that because someone doesn't draw the same way you do that it's terrible.
Take your watch on dA back, I truthfully didn't want it anyways.
