It hurts so much to draw really bad OC's.

I should just refuse to draw these requests. I have plenty of paid commissions I could be doing but no, gotta give out contest prizes don't I?

I've seen tons of OCs, so I've come to a conclusion on which OC pony types people tend to use.
Here's a list of them descending:
Pegasus
Alicorn
Unicorn
Earth Pony

Basically, most people want to be a pegasus/have wings.

Wings are cool.

Besides the fact that everybody wants to fly, it's probably because some of the most popular ponies are pegasi.
