I'm about to release a few racing maps, (city, road course, oval; not some those crap terrain ones.),
and to go along with them, I thought it would be great if a racing gamemode was created for more manageable
racing servers. It would have a lap counter, timer, start/finish line and checkpoints. The start/finish and
checkpoints would probably be a named brick. Those joining servers would have to have the mod to see the lap counter and timer. I wouldn't be able to help much, except maybe creating UI elements. Get a few good scripters
on this and it could be a reality.

Creation of some "racing" vehicles would be great too, such as Indy Cars, Le Mans-style cars, and stock cars.
The Formula 1, Turismo and BABY kart are all that are really suited for racing at the moment.

The maps I have done are:
Special Stage Route A

WIP:
Desert Canyon Track (unnamed)
Adryna Rock (Air and Water Course)
Special Stage Route B

Please give suggestions and support to this possible project!

Racing Go-kart has some oversteer and is not that fast, dragster can't really turn (but that's intentional), but {R} Car is good.

:)

Hope to see those maps, and that lap counter thing sounds neat.
I really hope this will be made!

Turismo is the best car for racing. The Swordfish II is great for air racing, how about some maps made for that?

I was thinking of making some maps for racing some of [gsf]Ghost's boats so air racing wouldn't be too
difficult. I would just make some rings to fly through and an epic skybox.

Should I release Special Stage Route A, or wait until I have more done and release them as a pack?

I would suggest releasing it, as the title "(whatever) pack" and put at the bottom "more to come" and link to this topic.

I want that Special Stage.

Final tests of Special Stage Route A then RTB upload.

It's called realism.

I tested Special Stage Route A on my desktop and it crashed. It worked fine on my laptop, so I don't know if my desktop's crappyness
is to blame or if there is a problem with the actual map. I might host a server tomorrow on my laptop to see if anyone who joins
crashes. I've put off the release of the map due to this and the opportunity to get more initial downloads with more maps offered.

I've decided to name the air and water course I've been working on Adryna Rock. It features a small, rocky island with a small hut and
runway for plane takeoffs. It also will have a harbor for boating races. In the air there is a circuit of hoops to fly through and arrows
directing you. In the water there are spherical floaty thingies that set out a course. A looping sound of the ocean plays through the entire
map.
