Civil disobedience go.
let's get in our cars put dem winders' down and play some loud-ass heavy metal  :cookieMonster:

It will not pass, unless everyone in the U.S is complete forgettard.
yep we're doomed.

I wish I could slam a bottle across whoever's face that created the bill.

If this passes I am canceling my internet and throwing my PC in the pool.

I wish I could slam a bottle across whoever's face that created the bill.
The christening of the bill maker.

Politics and musicians/artists/developers do NOT mix. I have the slightest feeling that this whole bill is fabricated bullstuff.

Viacom execs must be giggling like little schoolgirls in the midst of all this. They love to take down videos.

Plus, it may be copyright, but wouldn't it violate Creative Commons/Fair Use act?

i love how they're trying to pass this
but it's unconstitutional, this country would go to hell if it got passed and anything relating to the constitution would fly away.
so then we can't hang a pair of bear arms on our walls. :[

If this stuff passes then democracy has failed us.

YouTube is located in California and is subject to all state and federal laws. Even though they may be serving internationally, the content is still on their servers, and they must remove it upon request.

It makes it an automatic felony to post copyright material, regardless of what the copyright owner actually wants to do. For example, I could upload a video of a game and the copyright owner not care. Without this bill, it's up to the the copyright owner if or when to create a cease-and-desist. With this legislation, it's automatically a felony.

this is bad for game developers
because if they copyright their games, they will get tons of emails a day about uploading a video with their game in it
so
yeah

the people who are going to be asked whether the bill should be passed or not are probably going to be like "no, forget you, i like the videos i watch the way they are."

Guys its in early stages and is probably going to be revised.  There's a crapton of these videos around youtube telling all their 1000s of youtube followers to send angry letters to congress.

Congress is handicapped, but they are not trying to make gaming suck, they're trying to make it so all the cigarettes who are live streaming full movies and TV shows will stop.  I'm sure after congress receives their boatloads of angry letters they will revise it so it does not include every single copyrighted work in existence.
