Author Topic: Can I play Team Fortress 2?  (Read 1766 times)

I know I may get responses like, "post this in the TF2 thread!", but I want an answer.

I've looked at my specs, and so far a nice amount of them have matched up with the recommended section on TF2's Bio on steam, but I'm still a little shaky on whether or not I could run it.

I have a Dell(herp derp) Dimension 8400 desktop with a Intel Pentium 4(3,40GHz) processor
I have 512mb of ram(plan on maybe buying some more, if that is possible, or just clearing up uneeded software- I have a lot of that)available, and a Radeon X300 series graphics/video card, and DirectX 9 version. I also have a reliable internet connection.

Keep in mind I would be running TF2 on it's lowest settings, because I don't care for quality, I care for fun.

Also, I have about 500-600 dollars of summer cash-it may be less, I'm not certain- to spend. I'm wondering if I should make any investments, as I also would like to play other fun games like Left 4 Dead and you name it.

So yeah, give me your opinion. Oh and don't worry, I'm going to buy TF2, not play it free like some pansy- Sen Tzu said that!

500-600 loving dollars?

Holy stuff.

I did a summer job, bro.

8 dollars an hour, 7.5 hours a day, 5 days a week, two weeks.
of course, it was a W-4 Tax sheet, so I'm guessing the math'll be dumbed down, but I do have 50 bucks reserved, so yeah, 500-600 sounds about right.

Not till you finish supper.

bookmark it, as it'll be useful for whenever you are too lazy to look at your specs and the requirements and compare, or if you don't know jack stuff whether or not you pass a requirement or not

It's 11:49, you silly goose.

Where do you think I live, Europe?

You didn't finish last nights dinner, finish it now.
How-How did you know?!

and kevin, it's taking way to long to "brown townyze" my computer, but I meet all the minimum requirements and beyond.

I just made this thread because, like, all of you guys either-
A)have Team Fortress
and
B)know the specs of their computer
And wanted some personal accounts.

I need to get a job next summer. Legally I could right now, but not many businesses hire kids my age.

What did you do?

I helped program at a lego mindstorms camp and build legos all day and make stuff and draw.
Yeah, it was fun, but don't get me wrong- it was painful and tiring at many points.

ANYWAY, do you guys think I could run TF2 without lagging like a poor latchkey kid in Denver?

If it couldn't run on your computer, you could buy a decent computer with 600$. My computer's only 450$ and it runs TF2 fine, albeit with some settings turned down.

I think I'm going to try it.
Anyway, I'll just get F2P for the beginning, to test it out, and then if it lags too much I'll see what I can do.
thanks, guys.

I'll be really surprised if you can't run it.

Even I can run it on high settings. And my PC is stuff.

I can't run TF2 mostly because of my graphics card and processor speed.
