- Intel processor + ATI graphics = usually not pretty. Problems are not uncommon when those two are used in conjunction.
Not true.
- Do you SERIOUSLY need 24GB of RAM? It's serious overkill. Your motherboard only has 4 memory slots and the RAM you want is a 6-piece set. 12GB is largely plenty and will last you a long time.
Very true.
BTW, OP, the 6970 you have in the OP is better than the GTX 570. I haven't read the whole topic though so I presume you swapped them over.
Plus Crossfire scaling is better than SLI scaling, so you'd be getting more bang for your buck, or even get a 6990 and blow anything else out of the water.
Also also, instead of having a Logitech keyboard, Microsoft mouse and Razer headset, why not just stick to one brand?
I can vouch for Logitechs products and have their best mouse, best keyboard and best headset (G9x, corded cause they are better, G19, and G35 (7.1 :3)) as well as their G13 gamepad and G27 wheel. I'd never go back to Razer personally.
Also also also (fourth edit), how soon do you have to have this? IMO it'd be better to wait for Zambezi architecture (AMDs first CPU redesign in like 9 years). The top of the range one will have 8 cores and should be better than the i7s. They release sometime August/September.
