Author Topic: Gearworks Games - I'm making a game and its called ARMament  (Read 8516 times)

Lunar, I saw your pm and looked at the stuff. If you have steam, add me at http://steamcommunity.com/id/Marbells/ so we can talk. I can't pm anymore.

Sorry Lunar I don't use facebook. I think if you download one of those new free games on steam it will allow you to add people. You can probably delete it after too.

EDIT: I don't feel like quadruple posting, but I emailed you a couple hours ago Lunar.

The models don't look so great.
Though I blame that 100% on the fact that they aren't textured.
I am sure they would look much better textured and not smoothshaded.

Not smooth shaded? As in flat shaded? I don't think so. Unless you just mean the textures would replace the smooth shading. I tried making a texture for the napalm grenade and that didn't go too well.

Ahem;

The afro haircut doesn't belong in steampunk at all, and the desert bandit hat looks wierd, (the spikes).
The nailgun's trigger is too small, and the plasma cannon lacks quite some detail.

Other than that, It's turning out quite nice.

Is it like zelda?  if not then /support

Well its steampunk and some sort of plasma technology, but the games not going to be super serious. There will be some crazy/funny things like afros. Also I like the desert bandit hat.

Neither of those are done.

You mean is the game similar to Zelda or will it end in failure like Packer's game?
Not really similar game wise at all.
And hopefully it doesn't end in failure. I've started game projects before and never even really started them. All I did was make like 1 or 2 models. So this is quite a lot more work and I'm excited about the game so it probably will be finished. The real question is how long will it take.

Also, Lunar I'm waiting for a reply to that email...

Story
When the game starts, you are a Science person for the company who discovered Crazy science stuff (Black Mesa). The first mission begins by The Scientists telling you to go into the Locker Room and get yourself a HEV suit. Once you get the HEV suit, you do some science stuff . When you finish, an Explosion happens and and monsters come out and it throws the world into chaos.

Fixed the Story.

Fixed the Story.
Its not anything like Half Life's story...

Its not anything like Half Life's story...

Its totally the same what are you talking about

It actually is very similar... I'd make a new story, somewhere along the lines of you being one of the company businessmen, and your workers go on strike. The problem is, they've formed a union. You're one of the company mediators, and in this universe that's a big deal. In this alternate universe, strife is solved by combat. The first fight would be you versus one of the union members, with the more 'primitive' worker-type. Obviously it'd be really easy, and you'd have to learn basic world interaction. Of course, though, without the guidance of the corporate side of the company, the Workers end up screwing up the reactor, which I'd say causes all the Plasma to stay functional/stable. And once the reactor blows, all the rest of the plasma stops functioning/starts exploding, and the world is thrown into chaos. You have to survive and stuff, and rig yourself up one of the Plasma arms and find some weapons to survive the world.

Or something.

Make this game free-roam please.

Interesting story, but I'll stick with mine. Once the game is actually released you'll see that the story isn't similar.

Also it will be free-roam.
