The saddest part is that people will pay for something so restricted...
People pay for much more restricted things than the Lego RPG will be. When people pay for restriction, they also usually pay for structure, and then that structure delivers new content to them so they don't get bored. MMOs still offer a lot more freedom than your average FPS, and I suspect the Lego one will be even more free than most MMOs, if they put a large focus on building. It won't probably ever touch the freedom of hosting your own modded Blockland server, but that's just not what the Lego MMO is going to be about.

This has new content added everyday. Ofcourse it might not allows be quality :D

Their kids, they don't know what their getting. They could get GTA, they could get Barbie. They don't care really. That's why their easy pickings to marketing strategies.

Lego you have certain amount of bricks you can use... Blockland we can mod it and add new things... Hmm I really don't know what to choose. Lego fee's are higher, Blockland Fee's doesn't seem to exist you pay once and its forever.

I'm gonna have to think about this one.

hmm. I'll try it when it's finished. i wonder if it's going to be like toontown? strict, but fun. cool but it cost an monthly fee.

  • We're not even half way through 2007, and no MMO I've ever heard of has ever shipped on time.
  • There will probably be a monthly fee- is 2 months of lego mmo better than having Blockland forever?
  • I highly doubt it will be a sandbox where you can do whatever you want.  Even if it is, it will be heavily moderated.  A large kid-targeted company like lego can't risk being associated with anything inappropriate.  It could even be as bad as that disney mmo where you cant even talk.
  • Ambiguous topic.
Can i help by making commercials? I have a great idea...

No, I have some *HACKING COUGH* "Great" ideas but Badspot doesn't really need too; He does/spends enough as it is.

k, justin and i will be testing out legoland once it comes out, anyone else wants to join our raid, rape, and destruction party?

oh shame. you mean there might be less children spam swearing, and snake builds because there will be staff to monitor it?

im paying

----------------

it really depends on the content.
if i can use thousands of bricks (like 100k ish) i will be happy.
also if there be smaller servers for 5000 people to share, then your stuck in that server forever = suck

im looking for a sandbox mmo type online thing. similar to secondlife. cept GOOD graphics, and a stable engine/servers that dont lag with 20 low poly people hanging out.

since blockland is hosted by player's comps. there cant be all that many people together at once. not that theres more then 30 people on all servers at all times anyway.
some wad minimizes blockland to read his email, BAM lag for the clients

If you really wanted a large server you could go ask one of em Hosts sites and they could host a 64 player server, But clients would lag anyway because of the polys.

THERE IS NO ESCAPE FROM LAGOBLOCK!!!

I think we all know this. but lego sucks so they will phail

stfu, noob

hai gies wuts dis legohs gam cal't :cookieMonster:
