I was wondering, is it possible to get addons in garry's mod without the actual source engine required? Don't do a bunch of required bolding bullstuff just tell me if it is possible to add some attatchment or download some software that can make Gmod Addons work. I want to know because I have downloaded about 4 packs of weapons and only one works.

(Slightly offtopic, I had all the default HL2 weapons when I first got the game with my source engine portal, and now all my weapons are gone and all I have is litterally the physics gun, toolgun, and camera. Please tell me where I can fix this.

No, the only way is to get CS:S in order for most weapon add-on's to work.

Counter Strike: Source. The remake of the original Goldsrc classic game Counter Strike. Widely used in servers now.

Counter strike source

You need other source games to get textures and models for a lot of things in garrys mod.

All you really need is HL2 & EP 1-2

And counter strike source

In the menu you can enable game mounting.

To learn how to put addons into your game, download an addon and read the readme inside of it, they usually have instructions.

I am under a strict watch from my parents I cannot download violent FPS games. I guess I'll just have to deal with what I have... *Sigh* It is seriously depressing for me because I cannot see any weapon skins aside from some TF2 styled stuff. I really think that there is another way to get those skins. Either that or I'm being a stubborn little punk noob.

If you have tf2, i personally find tf2 more violent than CS:S

Other than that, no, you really cant gt other stuff unless you have the real game, trust me, i tried looking for them too, you wont find it, but buying the game makes it so much easier.

Parents... Maybe you could ask that you want it just for content for Garry's Mod?
