So I'm trying to install the hldsupdatetool. I've successfully installed the software itself, but now I'm at this part.

Now click on Start, Run and type cmd . Type in the commands mentioned here and end a line with the enter key. Command(s):

C:
cd \srcds
hldsupdatetool

The new version of HLDSUpdateTool will be downloaded now. After finishing the download and printing out some help, you may press enter to return to the prompt.
I open Run and type C:
Opens my hard drive.
Now, when I type "cd \srcds", it says that the file "cd" can not be found.
I'm not even looking for a file like that. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Most people here dont know much about steam problems, you would get better help from steam itself.

I think CD stands for change directory, so it should set it to the folder you want like

cd C:\

That sets it to C:\

I'm certain you have to include the full directory tree or else it won't work.

It's not a Steam problem.
And aludane, it always says it can't find the directory "cd", regardless of what I type after it.
