We have a similar problem with fruit flies, there are always a bunch in my house. They've mellowed out though but they were so damn annoying. :o

Two words, fly tape

Again, already set up but that won't get an infestation.

We got those too.

I put a piece of a double chocolate cookie in there. Hopefully, they're done for.

It isn't worth laughing about, duck tape works better on flies than fly tape. See, ducks are bigger, and they need better adhesive to get stuck on the tape. So, why not use it on flies? Duuuh.

Fly tape has special coatings.

I just checked Bug Bomb.

Bug bombs provide an instant knock down kill in just a short period of time. Simply, set it on a ledge or a table and release the trigger to discharge the insecticide. To protect the material that the fogger is set on, use newspaper or a pad under the bug bomb. To allow the fogger to disperse evenly, use a ledge or table that is located in the center of the room. Remember that the building must be vacant and kept closed for at least two hours. Upon return, air out the structure by leaving all the windows open for at least an hour. All ignition sources should be turned off before the bug bomb is released and exposed foods, dishes, and food handling equipment must be covered. Also, air conditioners or fans must be turned off. Do not remain inside the area during the treatment.

THAT'S HOW THE loving THINGS GOT IN. Basically all this does is generic diversity within the home.

Buy some Bug Bombs, for forgets sakes.

Also, when you leave leftovers nobody will eat, coat them in clorox or some other hazardous chemical and clearly label them to not be eaten.
