Will there be a flame thrower in the game?
Yes! Though it’s not actually shown in the trailer, there are 2 other weapons that also set enemies on fire, those are in the trailer, not the flamethrower.
Can the flame thrower set the ground on fire, and make the fire spread across flaming enemies who touch other people?
I tried this and it was a mess… in a few seconds the entire level would catch on fire and everyone would be dead lol. So no, the fire no longer spreads across the ground or flaming enemies who touch each other.
Can you add ____ to the game?
The game engine and art is pretty much done so we can’t really add big things to the game anymore. We’re working on the story and campaign though, so there is still plenty of room for ideas missions or challenging missions (such as playing 1v4, and you have 4x health, etc). Our weapons are all pretty much complete too, but we have no problem adding another if the idea is really good and fits the game.
Is Raze 2 online at all?
Nope, it’s still offline, though the main menu will show all the stats of everyone who has ever played. (Such as the total amount of headshots ever done). Now that the new engine and art is done though, we DO have plans for an online version in the future. Also not to worry, there is tons of more content and levels to keep you engaged. :)
Can you make the mouse wheel scroll through weapons?
We originally had that in Raze 1, but many websites would scroll the whole page when you used it! It was very annoying. Even though we allowed the scrollwheel and keyboard buttons, people would use the wheel anyway and complain when the page scrolled. Not really our fault, but it annoyed a lot of people, so we removed it and probably won’t be putting it into Raze 2 either.
Can you switch weapons with teammates, lay prone on the ground, etc?
Raze 2 is a really fast paced game, much faster than Raze 1. There can also be much more enemies in the game and on screen at once. Because the game is now much more fast paced, there isn’t really time to lay down and switch weapons with teammates. Think about it, you lay down, and a second later someone jumps onto your screen with a rocket launcher and blows you up. If the game was 3D and you could see much more further ahead of you, then yeah it would work to lay down with snipers. But with the short visibility range and fast pace, it just doesn’t work here very well.
Why is there only 7 weapons available at a time? Why not all 10?
The game now has tons of weapons. It was more of a design choice, now you can select a pistol, a close range weapon, and long range weapon, an explosive, etc. It allows us to put in many many more weapons and give you the opportunity to chose which weapon you want for each situation (close/long range, etc). Look at Call of Duty for example, they only allow you to have a main weapon and a side weapon. It’s just so you can customize your character, instead of everyone having all the weapons at once and being exactly the same.
Is Juice-Tin left handed?
Yes!
Why does that mines level look like a chocolate chip cookie?
Okay you caught us… It was originally supposed to be part of Sugar Planet X, the planet where everything is made of candy treats. After making the level we realized that a giant Cookie island floating in a sea of syrup and gumdrops doesn’t fit in the Raze universe… So we quickly threw some machines on there and changed it to the Mines.
