Author Topic: Escape Overlay Released [NARG]  (Read 494514 times)

It is.
Unless there would be a server-sided block.
we went over this a number of times in the past two pages.
not happening and not useful.

Just a suggestion:

What if players only showed up on the radar while they are moving and if they are standing still they would disappear from it.
hes not going to do that

i love the way he ignores almost all posts telling him this is something that shouldn't be done then does some dumb government logic (similar to how rykuta whips up unrelated crap from his ass) and completely ignores everything.

"badspot doesn't want you to do this it will be failed"
"well  this reminds me of the fake government bringing everyone down a level why limit people give them unfair advantages its a advantage even if its not a fair one"

this has nothing to do with whatever crap you've been coming up with about government and advantages and equality. badspot doesn't want it done and it will be failed just like aimbot. there was a patch for aimbot for a reason, and there will be one for this (i dont see why badspot doesn't just release a patch for these exploits or something already does he have to wait to finish a whole update first?)

don't finish it and if you do, don't release it. even privately because if i am right about the crowd you hang with, it will be leaked.
if you want equal equality or whatever, don't make this mod because then everything will stay equal on the level it's been.

pretty much none of these add-ons serve a purpose other than to be annoying. the only useful add-ons here are the ones that disable yours. if it can be done it doesn't mean it should. spambots can be done to exploit a chat glitch. you don't hold some need to fulfill or some determination to excel at a project you have committed your life to. this isn't some stupid movie where "it's to late to turn back now i am already almost complete" just stop making crap add-ons that are just a pain.

Would the SkyEye pick up bots and zombies? Because I hope it doesn't.

I have to admit that I am mildly suprised that I don't have a drama topic about this.  I guess that as long as this topic is here one isnt needed.

In unrelated news, I have successfully tested a completely server-sided system that is capable of blocking SkyEye, and I plan on releasing both mods at the same time.  However, the server-side mod will only be released if you guys chill the forget out.

Also heedicalking is just being a bandwagon moron.  You said nothing new and know little about anything you are trying to say.  You are dead wrong.  Cucumberdude at least discussed his concerns in an intelligent way.

I feel bad for introducing this new position getting method into blockland.

It was introduced by brian smith a long time ago.

Oh thank god a block. Now I'm happy and fine with it.

    - I play nearly all the time. You'll typically find me in mostly.... beta testing servers. Maybe
         zombies.
 - How much you know about scripting/modeling
-Eehhh, I don't know much about scripting, and I can't model very well at all. Can't even make a

    -None.
       I can texture well though.

I'm calling bullstuff.

If you use clientside data to build the radar, that means the serverside block will be pretty much useless - all people need to do is remove a couple lines of code (presumably a handshake of some sort) and they're free to use the radar as they wish. Unless you share how you are blocking CLIENTSIDE COMMANDS from the serverside, this is barely better than releasing it without a blocking script.

However, the server-side mod will only be released if you guys chill the forget out.
This is a joke right? Because if it's not - you are a massive friend. Why the forget would you release that conditionally?

Please respond to my previous question. Why are you making this add-on? Why do you think it is worth ruining deathmatches and countless other gamemodes, just so you can bask in the glory of noob-praise for a few weeks?

I think the real question is, do you have the balls to back down. You made a mistake, you announced an add-on that is a truly awful idea - just look at the response you got! If you really want to prove your worth in this community, this is your chance. Be mature and reasonable, don't pout and forge on ahead blindly ignoring what we are telling you. Cancel SkyEye. You might even be able to save what's left of your reputation. IMO, it's an issue with this community in general (and I am no exception at times): once we get an idea in our heads, we refuse to listen to reason and criticism, even if we are really aware that the criticism might be correct.

Do the right thing, Nexus.

Maybe you could release a video as proof that your block works?

Maybe you could release a video as proof that your block works?
No, that would not be sufficient.

Look at it this way. Anything you do clientside such as opening menus, joining servers... That can't be regulated from the serverside (it would be abusive). Now, it is possible to create a mod for the serverside that sends commands to a mod on the clientside (such as SkyEye). If the serverside block mod is enabled, SkyEye would receive a message saying "Hey, don't run! You're blocked!" and it would turn itself off on the clientside.

All that is good and nice - until you realize that all you'd need to do in order to bypass this is delete the couple lines of code that SkyEye uses to communicate with the serverside mod. You'd be home free and able to use it when you please.

The only way to make this mod NOT abusive is to make it serverside. And by that, I mean everything (except the GUI, obviously) comes from the server. That way, I don't want people using it, I can simply choose not to install it.

That, or cancel it all together.

Well, I don't think the kind of dumbforgets that would use this would know what couple lines to delete, so I don't think that would be TOO big of a issue. Seriously. The only REAL solution that everyone can be happy with would be making this server-sided.

It was introduced by brian smith a long time ago.

Ask briansmith who originally had the first aimbot.

Make it server-sided and work with teams and everyone would be happy. Get off your lazy ass and do it.

you avoided the point like i said. badspot doesn't want it done so don't do it. stop avoiding it it has been said 10 times. stop pulling up unrelated crap.
