Author Topic: Blockland Android App? Would you buy it? Why or why not! (Also general info)  (Read 5415 times)

What would be the difference with the paid version vs. the free version? Would you have any monitoring tools over your server with the free version or only be able to view the player list? And of course go to the websites.
I suppose the difference would be that the paid version had no ads.

Not only would this app be cool and useful to have. It could attract potential players.

Cool. If that would be the only difference I'd take the free version.

Nope.

Some people seeing the map may end up googling Blockland and might possibly download the demo.

But nobody would find it if they didn't search for Blockland if it didn't get featured.
Which it wouldn't.

You'd be suprised. I've stumbled across many random apps in the market that have <30 downloads. Although only 1 in 20 of those apps interested me - but there still is that chance.

I pretty much only look at "Top Free" in games when I'm just bored and not searching for something specific. But that's just me.

Personally I don't think I'd want to restrict users from better features by making them pay for it to get them, but I have yet to decide the difference between the free and paid version. It will definitely not contain any ads.

Another feature I was thinking of was something I'd call "Blockland Sync"
On the go, you can browse RTB addons and if you find a neat one, you can download it and it'll send it to your computer for you to use when you get back :O
You'd have to download a program on the computer for this to happen though. Thoughts?

Seems a bit useful but nothing I would give a high priority. Maybe make it later when everything else is done.

Exactly my thoughts.
I am starting first with the bare basics of the application. GUI and other basic functions. Although, I'm still learning how to do this all at the same time, so at the moment there isn't much progress to show other than a preferences menu where you enter your BLID and Blockland Name. :o

Why would it need to know that anyway?

I was only doing that for various testing purposes, mainly to understand preferences and how to use menus.

Is this going to log in through Blockland Forums for authentification?

I'm not all too sure how that would work, actually. I'd probably have to contact Badspot to figure out how I would work this out with him.
I did send him a message asking if I was allowed to charge users for this application but I never got a reply. Oh well.
