Author Topic: Bioshock feels way too easy.  (Read 4244 times)

I haven't played Bioshock before so I figured I would start off my game on Survivor mode with vita chambers off for a challenge I've been looking for. On the difficulty it says "every bullet counts" so I figured enemies take longer to die and ammo is extremely scarce. This is not the case because enemies are extremely easy to take down and I have stockpiles of ammo I don't even know what to do with. The only challenge I've had so far were the Big Daddies however I realized they are a push over when you place a couple explosive barrels next to them. If you don't have explosive barrels a combination of frag grenades, proximity mines and armor piercing bullets work best.

I've been reading around seeing tons of people that actually have trouble on survivor mode, this is my first time playing Bioshock and survivor mode and it's not even a challenge for me. The difficulty is so easy sometimes I wonder if survivor mode is even on.

I wish I could go into further detail but I am only up to Arcadia now. Maybe I will understand why people find this game extremely hard as I progress onto more levels. So far Arcadia is also easy.

Curious.
When I played it on second easisest difficulty, I ran out of ammo a lot, especially in the later levels.

I've never played Bioshock, but I can guess the big daddies are basically fat people in their underwear when you have explosives.

Why so many Bioshock topics?

Splicers are almost never a problem anyway

You're fortunate to have such an apparently plentiful stockpile of explosives to use against Big Daddies, I was running out often when I played

I've backtracked through levels picking up explosive barrels with my telekinesis. I placed 5 explosive barrels next to one big daddy and he died at an instant.

That's why you're finding it so easy, lol.

I guess I am just smarter than the average Bioshock player.

The game still isn't much of a challenge for a beginner like me on survivor with vita chambers off. I'm glad I started survivor on my first play-through, I was going to do it on my second but I thought I would take the risk instead.

Fallout 3 on the "Very Easy" difficulty is unforgiving. Ammo is easy to come by, yet health packs are very expensive and you rarely find more than one or two in the wasteland. I often find myself running for the hills with bullets whizzing past my head, and occasionally hitting me, and I run halfway across the map because the enemies follow you for miles. Then they finally give up and go back to their hideout, leaving me in the middle of the wasteland with two bars of health left and no stimpaks, and the nearest civilization is often very far away.

I need both Bioshock games ;_;

play far cry 2 on hardest difficulty for decent challenge

play far cry 2 on hardest difficulty for decent challenge
Is it really any good?

very good

and on hardest difficulty it adds all sort of extra stuff, like dehydration

Bioshock has been on sale alot for $5 each on steam would be my best guess.
