And you best hope.
Not pointed at you.

Being stuck on a boat for months on end seems to suck btw.

That's Navy.

they go in first
they dont get the best food or shelter
they get drills for a much longer time

dood join green berets and stuff your pants

The Marines is nothing like in the movies, just to let you know.

They really do have the lowest standard of living and hardest/longest physical training/drills. The only reason most people join is they can't get into the Air Force/Navy or they want to be more prestigious.

My mom and dad were both in the marines.

I would say do it.

Rangers>Marines. In bth rank and respect level. However, if you want to get straight into action, join the marines.

my brother is in targeting in the army. hes going to afghanistan

That's Navy.
Marines quite often go on ships with the Navy

I fail to see how this is remotely funny.

Do it, afterwards, when you're going to apply into a job in the near future you can say that you were apart of the Marines. Why? Because the Marines are much much more prestigious than the Army plus they'll know that you have more training than a Soldier in the Army. Plus, it pays off as being a Marine since there is a few extra long-term benefits of being a Marine as well.
