Author Topic: Save / Load only YOUR bricks?  (Read 715 times)

Wouldn't it be nice if a user created a add on that saved / loaded only the bricks you created.  Client-sided and also placed in the Load / Save Bricks GUI?

Been suggested.

I've also already suggested a GUI allowing a client to select which IDs' bricks he wants to save.

Actually, it will take some simple scripting to make that possible... but unless you want to not see anyone else's bricks on the server and be stuck frozen still, you will have to reconnect to the server after you save... then again you can put a sub-script on that will auto-reconnect you, but that will cause INSANE lag for everyone else.

So, save brick ownership and delete the lines in it that don't have your id.

Call in DrenDran, he'll probably be able to do this.

DrenDran was already making this, I don't know what happened to it.

No, it's not as simple as deleting lines that aren't yours or only reading the ones that are yours.

The only things that actually save ownership are the bricks that touch the ground. (ideally a baseplate)
The rest of the bricks do not save ownership.

When you load the bricks, bricks that don't have ownership will either:
-Acquire ownership of the baseplate, if there is none,
-Acquire ownership of the client loading the bricks.

So THATS why the ownership I was looking at was wierd.
That really helps, thanks.

If you're wondering about the script side of all that...

.isBasePlate

This could also be done very simply by checking all players to see if they have your trust, and a drop down menu that would allow players to select all 3 trust levels (Build, Full, and You).
