Author Topic: CS:S Glove Skin Troubles.  (Read 3321 times)

Ok, so I am currently trying to install these gloves for use in CS:S.

I am instructed to place them in the following path.

Cstrike/materials/models/weapons/v_models/...

The problem is, I dont happen to have a 'weapons' folder in my 'models' folder, making it impossible to install not only these gloves, but also any others.

I have tried re-installing.

Any idea what to do?

idk sounds kinda wierd, uh just try putting it in your models folder

I'll try that.

Thanks.

EDIT: Didn't work.

ya i thought so, well since you don't seem to have a weapons folder, maybe contact steam or something...

Seems I'll have too :l

maybe there isn't a weapons folder anymore, and that's an outdated mod? i'm not on my normal computer and won't be for a while, but when i can i'll check

That's because you need to manually create the missing folders yourself.

Yes, I just finished doing that. I put the 'Hands' folder into my v_models folder, and it doesn't work. Any idea?

EDIT: The 'Hands' file contains v_hands.vmt v_hands.vtf and v_hands_normal

i think you put those in the v_models folder, i think, i'm no good with this stuff but ya...

When I got CS:S and installed it, I didn't have the folders.

You don't need to make the folders unless the file is like yours, where it doesn't come like this: "Models and Materials"

Most skins come in Model, Material, and Sound folders, which all you do is put in your cstrike, and then you have skins.

I'm going to try to install this skin.

That's weird. This one doesn't. Just a 'hands' folder, with the files I listed above.

Just put everything in your cstrike folder. Anything you don't have is created. If it doesn't work, flag the skin for being broken.

I dont wanna be a pain in the ass, but could one of you guys install it, and maybe see if it works, so I could determine if it is a problem with me, or the skin?

Cheers.

Okay, I found a solution for you. Put it in this directory.

cstrike\materials\models\weapons\vmodels\

Now it should be

cstrike\materials\models\weapons\vmodels\hands\(files)

Hope this helps.

EDIT: Nevermind, I tried that. Didn't work :l

EDIT EDIT: Worked after I took it out, and put it in again. Thank you very much man! And thank you to everyone else who contributed.
