Author Topic: Larger Roads  (Read 880 times)

The roads that we have now so small that one lane can barely fit a jeep. I think that someone should make some road bricks that have larger roads. I was thinking just extend the lanes a little bit leaving a space of 4 bricks for a sidewalk.

The roads are just fine as they are, I mean really, Jeeps are supposed to take up one lane.

We also need ramp roads too.

Although the roads were made for a 4x space we could use some bigger sizes like 6x. Not every car we have is as small as the Brick Car that Blastdown made.

I see no harm with bigger sized roads /support.

That comes across as a very richardish statement

I don't see how? I am basically agreeing we could have bigger sized roads.

Yes

Buy I have discovered that the 16x16 baseplate printplate works a lot better, along with more print plates for the lines in the center.  I am using this design in my Cityrpg where I will attempt to make as realistic a city as possible.  Sewers look good under my design as well.

Most cars on Blockland either do not fit in one lane, or will constantly move out of it.
Take, for example, the Turismo, which is a fine car in all regards, but cannot fit in roads.
If someone made this, the Turismo and many other cars would gain actual use in builds. However, it would also mean changing builds a lot, too.

Kidding me?  When i play Blockland I fit 3 jeeps on one road... not on sidewalk either.

They are talking about the width of the roads, not the length, genius.
And scaling cars to half size or whatever doesn't count either.

Barnabas' Tinycar can barely fit in the lane. I'd like to see a road plate with each lane being at least 10 bricks wide.

Screw that, how about a road plate where you can build on it, and it covers the entire plate.

The average car on BL is around 8 studs wide and a truck should be like 10-12 at most. So probably a lane that is safe for vehicular traffic should be like 12 units wide. The original LEGO roads were designed with vehicles 4-6 studs wide and as the vehicle sets became more gargantuan LEGO had to change the roads so the new vehicles would fit.

Blastdown's brick car fits perfectly. Can someone take a picture of that?

I wish there were multiple lane roads.
