It's Sonic the Hedgehog's 20th anniversary
and SEGA is celebrating it with a new game~

Quote from: wikipedia on plot
Somehow an unknown enemy causes the appearance of multiple "time holes", forcing Sonic and his friends back in time. As a result, Sonic must band together with his younger self to defeat this enemy, save his friends and fix the timestream.

Gameplay includes classic Sonic 2D side scrolling elements and modern Sonic elements a la Sonic Colors

Quote from:  wikipedia on gameplay
The game features levels derived from 20 years of Sonic history, spreading across three eras: Classic, Dreamcast and Modern. Each level can be played with either Classic Sonic or Modern Sonic, each taking their own routes throughout the level. Classic Sonic's levels are strictly two dimensional side scrolling stages, using classic moves like the Spin Attack and Spin Dash while Modern Sonic's levels follow a gameplay style similar to more recent entries in the series, with the console versions using the 2D/3D style gameplay of Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Colors, featuring homing attacks, boosting, speed drift and the quick step. The 3DS version uses the 2D gameplay of the Sonic Rush series. Unlike the console ports, the 3DS version will feature special stages and a multiplayer versus mode, and the majority of stages included will be different from those of the console versions. The development team is also currently considering the inclusion of stages from previous handheld Sonic titles in the 3DS version.

Release Date: TBA

I for one am excited about this game and I'm planning on buying it since I've stuck with sonic despite the downfall in quality over the years.

Anyone else is going to buy it?

I might get it, but not as soon as it releases I want to see others people's opinions first.

I'm going to get it.
I am not expecting to be impressed, but I want to play the old-style side-scrolling levels.

I've heard good things about the Gamecube 'Battle' Version.
But I've never owned a Gamecube so i've never seen alot of the add-ons to the Chao Garden.
Which saddens be greatly as I loved the Chao Garden.

Other than that, The last Sonic game I even looked at was Unleashed, and it took me approximately thirty-two seconds to decide that Sega has killed the real sonic and replaced him with a much more talkative, childish, annoying, bitch.

I loved the Battle one for gamecube. I spent 90% of my time with the chao' though

That is basically what the game was about.
Why Sega has so much trouble figuring that out is unbelievable.

play sonic colors
then talk

play sonic colors
then talk
Like I said.
I stopped playing/view sonic games after Unleashed.
I was horrified with how idiotic they made Sonic seem. He talked way too much, and his voice was so loud.
I just looked it up, and I heard there was no chao garden.
/disappoint.
And until Sega satisfies my love for Chao' by bringing back the Gardens.
I will stick to my DreamCast.

The demo wasnt even a full zone.
I am disappoint.

You didn't even like the day time stages from sonic unleashed?

which is what all of the sonic colors gameplay is

and forget I missed the demo
I didn't even know about it
I just found about about it today

I only played the Sonic: Unleashed Demo for about a minute.
Then I started to feel like I was playing a game designed for children under 10. So I quit.
