Holy crap dude I have the EXACT same issue. Our internet just randomly blinks out, and then I have to wait 10 minutes or so for it to go back on. I have the same D-Link, so if you find a solution PM me, I my dad and I are both completely confused. I'll search it up too, expect a few replies.
its probably something with the dlink thingy (idk what theyre called exactly)

It's called a Router?

It's called a Router?
No not that, he replaced his router twice..

If you have an Android phone, try downloading the (free) application "Wifi brown townyzer" to see what channels are in use where you are.

You're sure it isn't interference which requires a more powerful connection to get over? Check if something periodically happens during the downtime.

Open up a command prompt, enter ipconfig and hit return. Your default gateway should be 192.168.1.254 (Just making sure it's the same as everyone). If this is the case, enter that number into your address bar on your browser (If it's not the same as mine then enter whatever number that pops up).
It should be in a section like Home Network>Wireless or something similar.

It's funny because he's actually wrong.
Usually it's 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. And if you have a Netgear router you can just go to http://routerlogin.net/.

Just poking int he dark here without seeing your exact setup, is the signal strength weak ans stuff where the router/computers are located? It sounds like your computers can't connect due to not enough signal, a way to test this is to move say a wireless laptop into your room(s) and see if it can connect and then try moving it right next to the router and try. You can also try this with the computer itself although its a bit more time consuming and way more effort.

Another thing you can try is making a windsurfer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUTT8wdN_VA (That router and windsurfers are exactly the same as I got :D) and/or turn off other wireless devices such as Mobile phones and see if the signal is any better.

THe main cause of the net dropping out is its receiving packets or data but its slowly draining out till the point you need to reset it. Another problem might be your modem (If its separate from your router).

Ok I downloaded that App and set my channel so that they dont overlap.

@Packer

I got 4/5 bars on channel 8, 5/5 on 11. Theres a computer in pretty much every room and they all get about 4 or 5 bars. My router and modem are different I think, the cable cord plugs into this big black box and then that has a cord that runs to the router. Idk if thats the modem or not though.
